This is my neighbor’s brand new 750iL. He has had it just long enough to get the plates on it. I’ve only a guess as to what happened. I think he got hit on this side...
... and then probably sideswiped someone on this side (the streets here are quite narrow):
Since he’s got to jump through insurance hoops anyway, I’d be tempted to steal the wheels to replace the thrashed ones on my 540; unfortunately I left my jack somewhere around Union City, NJ the other night.
Seriously though, this car didn’t have a scratch on it until it got a whole bunch of them at once. He/she must be super bummed. :(

My car got hit while parked about two months ago. Lots of witnesses, but the “white... maybe a Toyota?” floored it and nobody got the tag number. I’d be more pissed but I ran over a re-tread on the freeway which got sucked into the wheel well and bashed that same quarter panel already. I’ve just been waiting for Spring to get it repaired.
Now had I repaired it right away and then it got hit again, I’d be furious. As it is I figure they have to live with it and probably are/were terrified of getting arrested. I sleep better if I imagine them laying awake all stressed out. Fuck ‘em.

Those wheels might actually look pretty nice on an e39.

On a lighter note - I wonder if the 7 series still handles better than an S Class? They’ve both gained some weight since the 70s ....

Well, I haven’t seen head to head, but my dad tracks his 750Li. It does pretty good.

That is by far one of the most impressive things I've ever seen.

I mean... I htink you were kidding, but if the car is going to be a write off, swapping BMW wheels for other BMW wheels will probably go unnoticed by insurance. Might be worth having a chat with the owner.

I was kidding. I was making a subtle reference to another post that I seem unable to find, which is likely coffee related.
Quite seriously though, I’m pretty sure getting arrested for insurance fraud isn’t worth a set of wheels. I leave such adventures to those willing to drive their Bugatti Veyron directly into a lake. (I hope you get that reference!)

He can get 3 track days out of a set of Michelin super sports. Any other tire He has tried fails to survive even 1 day intact.
